BIO⎥ TERRI JI 🎹 Piano
Terri Ji is an accomplished pianist who currently studies under the tutelage of Dr. Regina Yeh. She has earned numerous accolades, including the championship title at the 2022 MTNA Washington State competition, as well as the 2022 Pacific International Piano Competition. She was also a laureate at the 2021 Sound Espressivo competition and a gold medalist at the 2021 Chopin NW Festival.
Terri has been recognized as a finalist in the King FM Young Artist Awards three times. In 2017, she was awarded the medalist and winner of the Seattle Young Artists Music Festival, and subsequently performed Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the Philharmonia Northwest.
Terri's education in music began at the Academy of Music Northwest, where she received a comprehensive education in music theory, ear training, conducting, composition, sonata literature, performance, choir, and chamber music. She has also studied the violin under the guidance of Ron Patterson and the harp with Alison Austin, performing with the Seattle Youth Symphony orchestra as both a violinist and harpist.
Beyond music, Terri has a passion for dance and attended the Cornish College of the Arts Preparatory Dance Program from the ages of 12 to 19. She has studied ballet, pointe, and contemporary dance and has performed as a Demi-Soloist in Nutcracker’s Snow Scene with the Cornish Preparatory Dance Company.
