BIO⎥ RIA KANG 🎻 Strings – Violin
A second grader hailing from the United States, Ria has been honing her skills in violin since the tender age of 4. She has had the privilege of receiving music education from distinguished faculties at Temple Music Prep and the Center for Gifted Young Musicians in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Additionally, she had the opportunity to study under the tutelage of Marvin Moon, a member of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Recently, Ria moved to the New York metropolitan area, where she is currently a student of Joseph Lin from Juilliard.
Ria's musical abilities have been recognized at numerous events. As a winner of the Elite International Music Competition and Crescendo Little Mozarts Music Competition, Ria performed at Weill Recital Hall and Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2022. She has also participated in various summer music festivals and has achieved top honors in the Under-13 Age Division at the 2022 Philadelphia International Music Festival Concerto Competition.
Apart from her musical achievements, Ria is an accomplished academic student who has received High Honors in the 2022-2023 talent search by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Talented Youth. In her leisure time, Ria enjoys reading, writing, and listening to classical music.
