Avery Armstrong is a young pianist who has been honing her craft at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Pre-college Division since the age of six. Under the guidance of Annamarie McCarthy, Avery has participated in numerous international competitions and recitals, showcasing her exceptional skills and musicality. In addition to winning top prizes at several prestigious competitions, including the KAMSA Competition, the Chicago International Music Competition, and the United States International Music Competition, Avery has been recognized with Grand Prizes at the Prodigy International Music Competition, the New York Laureate International Music Competition, and the New York International Young Musician Competition, among others. Her talent has also been acknowledged by judges who awarded her 1st Prize with Judges' Distinction at the American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition in 2021. Avery's passion for music performance is evident in her love of solo recitals, having given two solo recitals at Carnegie Hall in April 2022, and scheduled to return in April 2023. Chamber music is also a source of joy for her, and she frequently collaborates with other musicians in this capacity. Additionally, Avery has a strong commitment to giving back to her community, and she enjoys performing at charity events in the San Francisco Bay Area. In September 2022, she was a featured soloist at the renowned Flower Piano event at the San Francisco Botanical Garden. Avery has also performed at various events such as the SFCM Pre-college end of the year showcase and Christmas lighting events in Bowes Center.
