NICHOLAS VASILAKOPOULOS-KOSTOPOULOS 🎻 violinist

BIO

Canadian violinist Nicholas Vasilakopoulos-Kostopoulos began his music education at age eight in Montreal and within several years, became concertmaster of the Institut Suzuki Montreal string orchestra. In 2021 he was awarded gold medal in the Vancouver International Music Competition and was a finalist in the OMNI Competition. Nicholas was the second prize winner at the 2019 Canadian Music Competition and won a scholarship for the highest mark in Quebec. Extremely passionate about classical music and very creative, Nicholas enjoys performing to bring joy to people. He is a full scholarship student at the Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists studying with Jonathan Crow and generously supported by M. Oundjian. He is also studying with Jan Mark Sloman, and has worked with James Ehnes, Augustin Hadelich, Jennifer Frautschi, Vadim Gluzman, Jinjoo Cho, Elaine Klimasko and Rebecca Whitling. Since November 2021, Nicholas has been playing on a Nicolas Lupot violin generously loaned by Roger Dubois, Canimex Inc.
