BIO
Canadian pianist Justin Chen began studying the piano at age six, composition at age seven, made his Carnegie Hall debut at age eight, won the Canadian Music Trophy in the CCC Music Festival at age nine, and began studying at The Royal Conservatory Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists at age ten. He was invited to perform his own composition at the Canadian Junior Original Concert in Winnipeg and in the same year, participated in masterclasses in Vienna with Professor Elzbieta Wiedner-Zajaz. In 2020 and 2021, Justin won the Gold Prize in the Steinway Piano Competition. He won first place in the 2021 GOCAA International Piano Competition and became a 2021 GOCCA Young Artist. Justin loves to do things that require creativity. As a classical music lover, he is always finding ways to connect classical music to other parts of his life.
