CEDAR-ROSE NEWMAN 🎻 violinist
BIO
Australian violinist Cedar-Rose Newman studies with Lucie Robert at the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College, where she was a scholarship student from 2017–2021. She was inspired to learn violin after hearing works of Vivaldi and Bach played on her great grandmother’s violin; she now enjoys the opportunity to perform on this instrument. Cedar has performed recitals as soloist with orchestra, in chamber music, and orchestral concerts in Australia, North America, and Europe, and enjoys the many friendships she has made across the world while pursuing music. She will start a Bachelor of Performance in 2022 in violin. She also plays piano, having received her piano performance Licentiate Diploma in 2020. Outside of music, Cedar enjoys the outdoors (rock-climbing, bouldering, running, surfing, and skiing), cooking, and caring for the family dog, Benjamin.
